Managed to boost the production of 4,000 kg of compost, ready to be delivered to local farmers.<\/p><p>In 2014, up to 50,000 kg will be produced. The project \u201cDecentralization and community participation in the management of solid waste in the City of S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9\u201d, created with the main objective of improving public hygiene and cleaning conditions in the city of S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 &#8211; and thus increasing public health conditions &#8211; was started in 2009 and is in the II phase of implementation. Phase I of the project lasted 50 months and was completed in December 2012. It is a fee to be applied to the nominal value of imported products &#8211; a fee between 1 to 10% corresponding to the respective environmental impact, repairing the damage caused to the country by the generation of waste in need of collection, transport and treatment.<\/p><p>TIA will be the main means to carry out the <strong>Investment Financing necessary for Waste Management<\/strong>. The Producer&#8217;s Extended Responsibility: all packaged products, and manufactured goods, are transformed into waste, is the responsibility of the respective management of the Producer.<\/p><p><strong>Types of products targeted by TIA<\/strong>: all those that generate waste, especially packaging waste and materials that need final treatment so as not to contaminate the environment.<\/p><p><strong>Equity and solidarity<\/strong>: application of TIA target non-essential goods, making marginal products (a majority, 2.5% of CIF) marginally expensive.<\/p><p><strong>Country development<\/strong>: the Tax aims to combat poverty by alleviating environmental pressure, unhealthiness, and creating employment and wealth creation opportunities &#8211; new lines of recycling and reuse of materials that without financing through TIA are impossible to achieve.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-387c0cd elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"387c0cd\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-bb37fd5\" data-id=\"bb37fd5\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-12c1934 elementor-widget-divider--view-line_text elementor-widget-divider--element-align-center elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"12c1934\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider__text elementor-divider__element\">\n\t\t\t\t3.
